CHRISTMAS HOME DECOR TOUR 2018 | Brianna K

Hey Loves!

Wanted to share with you on the blog my Christmas decor for the 2018 Holiday Season to give you some decoration inspiration and hopefully brighten your day if you need a little distraction.

I also want to open up a little bit on the blog and share some thoughts I’ve had that just need to get off my chest. So here goes….I’m terrified this might be the last Christmas with my dad. If you are new, he’s been on hospice since September, and he is a fighter. So, my blog and my Instagram and my YouTube channel are oftentimes my distraction for trying to not feel sad and depressed. It’s nice to live in my decor fantasyland and post positive and happy pictures and videos because I don’t want to bring anyone else down into the sadness I can often feel right now. And I feel like that’s what I should be posting, because when I went to visit my dad, he told me how proud he was watching my Christmas house tour video (he has an iPhone so watches my videos on there), and how neat it is for him to still see what goes on in my life and what the house looks like since he’s bedridden, and how happy it makes him especially since he’s so sad right now too. He said I remind him a lot of his mom, my Gramma Savoca, who passed away when I was only a few months old, because she would always go over the top every Christmas. I thought that was pretty cool that we have that in common.

So I hope you enjoy this little Christmas decor tour via photos taken by my talented friend, Molly Watson. And make sure you check out the Christmas House Tour video on my YouTube channel as well, so you can take a peek inside every room of our home not pictured here!

It’s crazy to think it’s the third Christmas in our home, but it’s the first year I really went all out around the entire house. We’ll get started in the entry.

THE FOYER

Ever since we toured this house, I immediately knew I had to string garland on the staircases for Christmas. I really wanted them to be lit because I love that effect at night time, but due to the fact that there are not outlets adjacent to the staircases, I needed to find some prelit battery operated ones, and these worked perfectly! I also love the traditional red and green combo against our neutral gray paint scheme. (In case you’re wondering, the paint color in here is called perfect greige. I get that question a lot.)

THE FAMILY ROOM

I love changing up the pillows and throw blankets on the couch for each season, and since I keep all the walls and furniture a neutral gray color scheme, I love adding in the bold pops of red for Christmas. And, our stockings are a DIY. Every year, Walmart sells the champagne gold glitter monogram letters for under a dollar, and I just got red velvet stockings from Target and Walmart (depending on the year and what I liked best) and hot glued the letters on.  Super easy and affordable!

PRESLEY’S NUTCRACKER THEMED NURSERY

Presley took baby ballet classes this summer and fall, and since she had a champagne and blush themed nursery, I thought it would be perfect to transform it into a Nutcracker ballet themed room for Christmas. I found a Champagne gold tree on Amazon and a rose gold tree skirt, some gorgeous nutcrackers, and a blush snowflake pillow to tie everything together.

LANDON’S RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER NORTH POLE THEMED BEDROOM

When I was pregnant with Landon, he would go nuts in my belly anytime “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” was playing, and to this day, it’s his favorite Christmas song. So, when I saw some incredible deals on Pottery Barn Kid Christmas bedding this summer, I jumped on the Rudolph sheet set, and decided to make his bedroom into a Rudolph inspired North Pole themed room for the holidays. Normally, his bedroom is Cars themed, but I found really cute North Pole street signs at Michaels this year, and thought they tied in everything perfectly. He’s so proud of his room, and anytime we have a visitor, he asks to show them his room. It makes my heart so happy.

THE KIDS’ BATHROOM

We host Thanksgiving, and I knew my sister and her boyfriend would be staying with us for a week, so I thought it would be really fun to decorate the bathroom. Just like Landon’s room, took full advantage of some off-season sales I saw, and got this shower curtain with the cute red trucks with the Christmas trees and the towels from Pottery Barn.

THE KITCHEN

As they say, the heart of the home, and where I spend a ton of time between feeding the kids, and often times I’ll be sitting at the table working, editing, and blogging. I love being in this room because I can look into the family room and see the tree, and since I clean it every day, I just love how it smells too. But, since it does open into the family room, I try to keep the decor pretty simple and minimal, just adding in the pretty winter greenery with the red berries, changing up my three-tiered stand with faux pine sprigs and candy canes, and when I saw these adorable black and white buffalo check towels with the pop of red at Joann Fabrics this year, I had to have them!

OUR MASTER BEDROOM

Last year, I saw this red buffalo check bedding in a Pottery Barn catalog, and I was so inspired, I decided to decorate our master bedroom for the first time ever. I loved it so much, I ended up re-ordering it in a king size because we upgraded our bed this year (with two toddlers who love to cuddle, it was so worth it). I found some pretty creme and gold pillows at Target, and a super soft fleece throw, that our dog is obsessed with. To complete the look, I got the Ho Ho Ho pillow cover from Pottery Barn, and I couldn’t imagine a cozier place to get under the covers, read a bedtime story, or watch a Christmas movie.

MY BOSS MOM OFFICE

This is where the real magic happens. I am obsessed with rose gold (if you’re new), so when I saw some gorgeous rose gold decor at Big Lots this year, I jumped on it. That rose gold deer is my spirit animal. I decided to go with a rose gold, blush, and gray theme in the office, which is honestly my favorite combination, and I would do my whole house like this if Adam would let me.

Hope you enjoyed this Christmas House Tour via pictures! Let me know which decor or which room you like the best!!! And if there’s anything you are interested in the link for, check out my Like to Know It page– that’s where I link everything!!

Merry Christmas + Happy Holidays!

Love,

Brianna xoxo

Your house is beautiful! So very sorry you have to go thru what you all are with your Dad! My heart & prayers go out to you. Went thru this over 20 years ago so know exactly the roller coaster ride you are in. Love & may God give you peace that only he can!

    Hi Brianna,
I am so sorry for what you’re going through with your Dad. I know how hard it is and how much it’s breaking your heart. But please keep in mind that he is not alone, I truly believe with all my heart and soul that there is an angel by his side. After becoming a parent, I have a different perspective on life. You are your father’s legacy. He will live through you and shine through your eyes. My Grandma was in hospice. And even though it completely tore me up, I knew she was finally at peace. Reading about the different stages of grief helps you understand all the feelings that will come up. It’s a roller coaster my friend. But you will get through it. I read “Heaven is for Real” and it was the one thing that kept me sane. And reminded me that God is truly there, here, every where. God speed. You, your family, your dad are in my prayers.
    Xoxo, Lisa. s

Heyyyy Brianna K! My name is Reesie! I’m from Cleveland, Ohio! I literally live in downtown Cleveland. I know you’re from the Strongsville area! I just wanted to say how much of an inspiration you are! Your children are BEAUTIFUL! Well kept and always clean and presentable. You take so much time and care in your craft and that’s amazing! I’m 26 years old. I work in healthcare and I aspire to become a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner. I have such a long way to go but I am so determined to make it. I’ve been struggling so much to balance my life. I am thankful for no children yet (only because of how scrambled things tend to be lately). I love your energy, how content you tend to be, how sweet and kind you are and how easy you make living life look. Blessings to you and your family. I’m praying for your father and I hope he stays with you for many more years to come. You are loved and God is always with you. Thank you so much for sharing your life, your beautiful craft and creative mind. You are truly, truly the definition of a MOM BOSS! And you deserve all good things that come your way.
    All the best.
    Reesie.

I LOVE your style of decorations! I am going through a similar situation as yours this Christmas. Our grandma is declining rapidly, and this more than likely be her last Christmas with us. Her birthday actually falls on Christmas Day making this so much harder as it may be her last birthday too. All we have been trying to do is make this as special as we can and truly cherish every last second we have! Life is so darn precious 💖
