Tis the season... for football food! We're truly kicking off the most delicious time of year over here. If you can eat nothing but appetizers in front of the TV on a lazy Sunday afternoon, you're my kind of people! So put on your stretchy pants and get ready to chow down - no matter who you're rooting for, there's always a seat for you at my table!
First up is a fan favorite - queso dip! This crowd pleaser is a throw-and-go recipe that's super easy to put in the crock pot before you head out to church. You'll come home to ooey gooey cheesey goodness just in time for kickoff.
* 4 oz cream cheese
* 4 cups shredded white cheddar cheese
* 1 4.5 oz can of diced green chilies (do not drain)
* 1/2 tsp cumin
* 1/2 tsp garlic salt
* 1/2 cup milk
Cover and turn to high setting, stirring occasionally until all melted.
Garnish with chopped green onions, cilantro or jalapeΓ±os. Serve warm with tortilla chips and enjoy!
This is my favorite recipe for football games! Not to mention it blew up on Instagram. And it's really no wonder why. Any time you bring bacon and cheese together, you've got yourself a party!
Next time you're invited over to a friend's house for football and food, come with a casserole dish full of this yummy taco dip goodness. I promise, you'll be the talk of the block!
1. Blend 1 cup sour cream and 1 block cream cheese. Spread for bottom layer in serving dish.π€
2. Layer on salsa, 1 diced tomato, 4 diced green onion stalks, shredded cheddar cheese (2-3 cups depending how cheesy ya like it ππ§) and 1 lbs crumbled bacon
3. Serve with tortilla chips and enjoy!! β¨π
As much fun as it is to load up on a belly full of cheese in front of the TV, a nutrient here and there wouldn't hurt us! And if you have the kiddos joining you on the couch, it helps to have healthier snacks to reach for.
My kids love snack boards because it gives them the opportunity to be in control - I just stock the tray full of a 50/50 mix of good choices and fun choices and let them handle the rest!
If you make any of my football snack ideas, share them with me! I can't wait to see how you take these apps to the next level in your own home. Tag me on Instagram @bitsofbri, and catch up on the latest with me on YouTube!
