Hey Loves! Happy first day of fall! It’s official! I wanted to share all of the new Halloween decorations I put up for Fall 2019. Landon and Presley have been begging me for weeks to make the house spooky (I shopped for fall decor and some Halloween decor at the same time with them, so they knew what was up.) So I decorated at the end of last week, and I honestly LOVE how it turned out. I normally always combined fall and Halloween, but this year, I went all out with the Halloween decorations since the kids were really into it. Let me know which space is your favorite in the comments!
In the family room, I wanted to make everything spooky and still cozy feeling, but still tie in the burnt orange color that I’ve been loving for the fall. I also saw on Pinterest the idea to use a black feather boa- and I feel like that really made the mantle look spooky (since the feathers sort of billow and move as you walk past), but it also looks sort of chic. And it’s a very inexpensive decor hack- so another plus! I also tied in the buffalo check pillows to keep it cozy! And I love how those are pieces I can definitely reuse for other seasons too!
We recently updated our kitchen countertops and backsplash to all white, so I really wanted to do black and white Halloween decorations with metallic accents. I thought that could look spooky for the kids but still glam for me.
We also snagged a new entertainment center when there was a great Labor Day Weekend sale, so I was excited to put some of the Target dollar spot finds on it! I kept it pretty simple, but I love how it makes the room feel more complete. And it will be so fun to decorate for other seasons and holidays, too. (Yes, I’m already scheming about decorating for Christmas!) But let’s stick to the Halloween decor for today…
It was so fun putting some of the Pinterest ideas I’d been saving into fruition, like these bats on the wall of the kitchen. If you’re looking to save money or just decorate a small space, I’d highly recommend doing this! You can get a huge pack of bats on Amazon, and just use painters tape to not damage your walls, and it would look so cute around a mirror, a door, a mantle, a foyer table, or a chalkboard or bulletin board if you’re a teacher or decorating an office space. It’s a very simple and inexpensive DIY that looks so cool! I think it’s my favorite decor spot in the house right now!
And I love these personalized trick or treat bags that we got for the kids. We use them each year for decor in the foyer and then for trick or treat!
If you’re interested in those bags or any of my decorations, I’ve got my fall and Halloween decor linked on my LiketoKNOW.it page here. I’ve also got a list of all my Halloween decorations that I ordered on Amazon here.
And if you’ve been following along for awhile, you know I’m a huge Harry Potter Fan, and so are the kids. We’ve watched all the movies together, and we’ve started reading the first book to them too. So for our dining room, I love making it have a “Great Hall” Harry Potter theme.
We also love the movie Coco, and we actually dressed up last year for Halloween as some of the characters. So in the kids’ dining room where we also do a lot of crafts and snacks and stuff, I wanted to make it really colorful with a Dia de los Muertos or “Day of the Dead” theme inspired by the Coco movie. They kids really love it, and I love how bright and fun all the colors make it.
If you’d like to see how I cleaned and decorated the whole house, check out my video! I also have all of the transformations at the end of the video of the fall decorations to the Halloween decor, which I think is always fun to see!
Hope you all have an amazing day! Thanks for being here and reading my blog. Your support means the world!
