The countdown to Christmastime at Disney is on! We’re just over a week away from our trip and I’m so excited to see all the decorations. Truly, nothing beats Disney at Christmas. All of the decor and the thought that goes into each parade, performance, and attraction is just unbelievably magical.
Last year, we surprised the kids with a trip to Disney Land for Christmas! This year, we’re going ahead of the holidays. But I wanted to share how I’ve surprised the kids in the past, and how you can make your big announcement special, too! Plus, stick around because I’m also sharing a way you can score big time savings on planning your next Disney trip at the end of this post!
I absolutely love this idea because it’s so unexpected. This small business on Etsy creates Disney surprise boxes that collapse when you take off the lid, revealing Mickey or Minnie and a pop up message inside! My kids would absolutely love this! It’s a very affordable way to reveal your Disney surprise – the boxes are less than $30 on Etsy and create something physical to sit under the tree that even the best present detective won’t be able to guess.
We revealed our last trip by surprising the kids with outfits to wear to the airport (I’m actually so surprised that a lot of these items are still available, and on sale!) – it’s the best way to go! If you love planning coordinating outfits for the fam for your Disney trips, this knocks one day of outfits off your list! Speaking of, you should check out my blog post on where I shop for Disney outfits. I got a couple new outfits for our upcoming Christmas trip, including these adorable earrings for Presley and I and a few accessories for me.
If you’re going to Disney for Christmas and the kids know about it, you can really build up the anticipation by doing a Disney advent calendar or countdown! We’ve done this in the past and I loved to make it bucket list style – we had a Disney jar with our exactly as many slips of paper as there were days until will left. Each slip had a Disney activity – movies to watch on Disney Plus, watching the parades on YouTube, crafting our own ears, playing Disney character charades. Every day gave us something new to do as a family and built up excitement to get to the airport and see Mickey!
If you’ve been wanting to surprise the kids with a trip to Disney for the holidays, I have a little surprise for you that’s going to make it a no brainer – Small World Vacations is running a Black Friday special! You can earn a $200 Disney e-gift card when you book using code BF22! Book the trip of your dreams, give your kids the ultimate Christmas surprise, and get majorly rewarded!
I hope you have an amazing Thanksgiving and a wonderful holiday season with your family. Thanks for being here and be sure to follow along on Instagram to see our Disney adventures in just over a week! Bye, loves!
