Hey loves! Today I am our morning routine in quarantine as a new pregnant mom of two kids for isolation. This is our routine to do homeschool and stay productive and positive during this time.
I usually wake up around 5 but lately i’ve been so tired in my first trimester that i’ve been letting myself sleep in a bit. I’ve been waking up around 7:00 and then will head to the bathroom to wash my face, brush my teeth and my hair. The kids usually wake up shortly after so i’ll get them from their beds and we head downstairs to start the day!
I make myself some coffee and get breakfast started, pancakes have been the kids only request lately! At 8:00 we’ll start doing our homeschool routine. This has been the biggest change for this stay at home order. I’ve been a teacher before but it’s just not a part of our normal routine!
Once we’re done with homeschool, I’ll start to tidy up around the house and let the kids have some free play time, either their toys in the basement or on their tablets. I try to do some laundry and a little bit of housework each day in the morning because I get so tired in the afternoon! I try to get as much done as I can while I still have energy.
While the kiddos are still playing in the basement I try to hop on my exercise bike. Hopefully after the first trimester is over I can go back to doing this before they wake up but for right now this works! I’ll ride the bike for 45 minutes to an hour and then the kids will help me tidy up the play room. I always try to clean as I go, and also include the kids in helping to pick up as much as possible.
Once the weather warms up a little bit, around 11:00 or so, and as long as its not raining or snowing, we head outside for our daily walk. This has been the highlight of my day lately to just be able to get outside and get some fresh air! Once we get back I’ll make lunch and the kids down for their naps.
I hope this stay at home morning routine helps you as we’re all trying to figure out what this schedule can look like! I’m sending you so much love as I know this isn’t an easy time, especially with little ones!
