Hey, loves! I'm looking forward to this summer like I truly never have before - the kids are at such an incredible age right now where it feels like the world is our oyster. There are so many new things to try, fun places to go, and memories to be made. But some of our best summertime memories are made right in our backyard, grilling out with friends while the kids play in the sprinkler with all their neighborhood buddies. The simplest get togethers turn into the most memorable nights.
What do you have planned for Memorial Day Weekend? It's such an important weekend to teach our kids why we gather this time of year - to recognize the sacrifices made for our freedom and count our many (many many!) blessings. Whatever you're doing for this important holiday and kickoff to the summer season, I hope these patriotic recipes help make the weekend feel extra special for you and your family. Enjoy!
This week's video was sponsored by Temu, which is where I scored both my burger forms and my corn shucking tool that made prepping this delicious patriotic spread so easy!
A summer corn salad is my absolute favorite side for summer - I love the taste of corn on the cob, but don't love getting corn stuck in my teeth! This salad is so easy to put together by shucking the grilled corn right off the cob.
Blend the dressing with a hand whisk. Then, prep the veggies!
Drizzle the dressing and toss the salad. You're ready to go! The other half of your red onion can be used for the all American burgers!

This is the perfect combo to serve the kids this summer! You'll need a pack of hotdogs or sausage dogs on a skewer with just a little bit of skewer sticking out of the top for the star. Wrap the hot dogs in crescent rolls from top to bottom, then lay out on a foil covered sheet pan and drizzle in olive oil and garlic salt, coating the dough so it won't stick.
Pop them in the oven at 350 degrees until the crescent dough is browned, and use a star cookie cutter to slice cheese stars for the toppers. It's also super fun to display the hot dogs on the table in a weighted mason jar - it looks like an edible firework centerpiece!
Serve with a summer fruit salad of berries and watermelon, topped with a lime poppyseed dressing and fresh basil!
I've included three absolutely delicious drink recipes in this week's video that I can't wait for you to see - one summer drink staple I've been sharing on my channel for years and lots of newness that I've been mixing up with friends! I hope you guys have a beautiful Memorial Day Weekend with your families and a great summer. See you soon!
