2023 Valentine’s Day Home Decor & Crescent Heart Recipe

Brianna // Feb Spring Clean

Hey, loves! I was just thinking, I'm pretty sure my favorite thing about the home renovations that I've been doing lately is that it makes the house such a clean slate for any decor that I want to do. I don't think I could ever be the kind of person who just leaves her home the same all year round - it's just not my style! These fresh new floors, paint, and even the small changes I made around the fireplace have created the perfect backdrop for all my seasonal decor!

Which means that it was the perfect time to try something new and out of the box. For Valentine's Day, I've always opted for softer colors. A lot of modest pastels covered our home this time of year. But in 2023, I'm trying to step out of my comfort zone and do all the things that I always wanted but was never brave enough to try.

It may sound silly to some, but decorating with hot pinks and feather boas really is a big step for me. Why not? It's fun, it's girly, it makes me happy! I hope that you do something today that makes you happy, whether it's a small change or a big one.

Tell me if you see what I see - Hayden plucked all the heart picks out of the boxwood tree in the entryway! So the decor isn't perfect, but it's a sweet reminder of his tiny handy work every time we walk in the house!

How to Create A Valentine's Day Tree

The great thing about Valentine's Day decor is that there are so many clearance Christmas items that you can repurpose in February to save BIG. This rose gold Christmas tree (linked below) was on clearance at Walmart for $7! With a little creativity and some heart picks, I turned it into a sparkly pink statement piece for the living room.

You guys might remember a few years back when I DIYed a tons of these books from Goodwill for my entertainment center. They were all 50 cents a piece, and I picked up craft paint that I mixed in various shades of pink to create these romantic, feminine decor pieces. It's a really inexpensive (and sustainable) way to add height to your decor and brighten up the space!
