Hey loves! In this video I want you to “come home for Christmas with me” Not having my dad here with us anymore, I know I’m not the only person that is lonely in someway this holiday season. I wanted to invite you to come home for Christmas, come to our house!
Join us while we bake Christmas cookies, decorate gingerbread houses, and of course I’ll be doing some cleaning! We’re also going to watch a Christmas movie, I’m going to wrap some presents, and I’ll show you how I make a cup of Christmas tea and plan for the week. At the end of the night, we will do some self care!
We started the day making cookie recipes that are passed down from my mom! I have the recipes linked here. The kids love cutting out the cookies and decorate them. There is something so special about making Christmas cookies. While all of the cookies were baking, we watching a Christmas movie. We watched Noel on Disney+ and it was SO cute! Both kids loved it.
Decorating gingerbread houses was a blast with the kids! We did a fun little contest of boys vs the kids. The kiddos love doing them so much and it’s definitely becoming a tradition in our family! They turned out so cute.
Once the cookies cooled, we decorated the cookies, which is the kids favorite part. For now, I do the frosting and the kids put the sprinkles on top. We had the best time decorating our cut out cookies!
I made a cup of Christmas tea and planned out the rest of the week. I use chai tea and a dollop of whipped cream, and some Christmas sprinkles. This adds the perfect amount of cream and sugar. I love the cinnamon spice of chai tea, it reminds me of Christmas and I feel like it goes so well with Christmas cookies. This was my little treat while I planned out my week!
Then I get started on cleaning up the kitchen and putting away all of the dishes from all of the baking, I love having a clean kitchen for the week ahead!
I had some Christmas present wrapping to do. I always try to wrap my presents in certain wrapping paper depending on which event they are going. So when they’re under the tree I know which gifts to grab as we go to different events!
Now that all of the gifts are wrapped, it’s time for some self care to wind down for the evening. Some bath bombs and under eye pads. After my bath, of course, I have a glass of wine. A bath and wine and I’m in heaven!
Whatever your circumstances may be, I hope this video allows you to come home for this little bit, and be a part of our family to feel the love and the spirit of Christmas. I’m sending you love of holiday cheer and love and I hope you come back for part two next week. Merry Christmas loves!
