Making the Most of Your Morning Routine

Today, I'm sharing a look at my morning routine as a solo mom of three, and it's a pretty unique perspective - I filmed a transition day, where the kids start the day with Adam and end it with me. Adjusting to a new routine post-divorce has come with a host of challenges, but I hope that sharing this video with you guys helps you find your own rhythm no matter what life looks like for you right now!

3 Tips For A Smooth Morning Routine

  1. Get your body moving first thing. If you've been following me from the beginning, you know that I live and breathe by my exercise bike in the basement! But on transition days like today, I get the opportunity to go to 6 am barre class before picking them up for school, which is something that I hadn't been able to make a priority since before Presley was born. And it feels so good to be back!Most days, getting on my bike first thing is all I have time for, but it truly sets the tone for the rest of my day. I took care of me first, and now I can focus my energy on the kids' needs for our school routine.
  2. Getting my groceries delivered. I started getting my groceries delivered in 2020, but quickly realized that it wasn't the grocery shopping that was draining my energy.   3. Keeping my rituals. A few years ago, when I was beginning to experience major symptoms from my anxiety, my doctor recommended that I give up caffeine. If was a hard transition, but I've still kept decaf coffee a part of my everyday routine.Having a morning ritual of sitting down and enjoying a hot cup to myself is so necessary for me to get my day started. But I love that I don't depend on the vice fo caffeine to wake myself up. However you feel best, find a morning ritual that is just as good for you as it is comfortable and soothing.
