STAR WARS THEMED BIRTHDAY PARTY

I can’t believe my baby boy is FIVE! This weekend we celebrated Landon with a star wars themed birthday. Our friends and family surprised him with a drive by parade and he was SO excited, it was so sweet. I wanted to clean and decorate the house so i’m sharing how I decorated it with a Star Wars theme for him!

This year’s planning was so different from other years since I couldn’t go to the stores and buy anything! I ordered everything online, a majority of the things are from Target!

Some of the tips I have for you when it comes to decorating are to focus on one space or one room to make a big impact, rather than spreading out. I love to decorate our dining room area and I always use our buffet as a focal point for the decor. I usually will find a tablecloth to add a pop of color, and add some letter balloons! They’re inexpensive and so fun! I actually ordered a helium tank! I added some garland to the buffet as well, I think they add such a fun touch.

For his cake, I made a funfetti cake that I found on Pinterest that was Star Wars themed. I used white frosting and black fondant stars and it turned out so cute!

While the cake was cooling, I decided to set up the tablescape. Another tip I have is to always lay out everything you’re planning on having in a google doc, just to make sure it all coordinates. I’ll try to pick opposing colors. Since the tablecloth was black, I chose silver plates and utensils so that they popped against the tablecloth, and then placed a black napkin on top of the plates.

For Landon’s birthday dinner he requested Han Solo burgers, they were so good!!

  • Put 1 pound ground beef into 13×9 dish
  • Season with steak seasoning and a pinch of sugar
  • Bake at 425 for 15-20 minutes until juices run clear
  • Drain juices and top with sliced american cheese
  • Bake for 2-3 minutes until cheese is melted
  • On a separate tray, slice buns in half and top with olive oil
  • Sprinkle the top of the buns with sesame seeds and brown on broil for 2 minutes
  • Spread thousand island on bottom of buns and sprinkle with lettuce
  • Add the meat on top
  • Drizzle more thousand island and sprinkle lettuce
  • Top with sesame seed buns
  • Enjoy!!
