Welcome to our house! Wanted to give you a little tour of how things look around here for summer 2019. I love changing up my decor for every season, and summer is my husband’s favorite because he loves all the pops of blue I add around our home, and I love adding cheerful yellow accents to our all white kitchen. It makes it so bright in there, because that’s where I end up spending a lot of my time. Hope you enjoy this picture tour of the decor around our home this summer.
First stop on the tour, our foyer. I love putting up some patriotic red, white, and blue decor on our foyer table when you enter our home. These decorations can last from Memorial Day weekend, through the Fourth of July, and until Labor Day. The Fourth of July is also Adam’s birthday, so he always loves seeing that decor up too. New this year, I found some really cute blue gingham decor in the Target dollar spot, so I hung this sweet banner and set this “Home Sweet Home” pillow with the puff balls on our foyer bench.
Next stop on the summer decor tour, our new kitchen! We recently did a makeover of our kitchen to turn it into an all white kitchen. (I’ll have a blog post where I share more of the before and after of the kitchen and all the details of the makeover!) But I love adding pops of yellow, green, and this year some blue gingham so it had a nice flow into our family room (you’ll see those pictures below, after the kitchen ones!). And I love changing up the three-tiered stand seasonally too. For summer, I make it lemonade themed, with a bunch of faux lemons and some other yellow accessories and greenery I found at the craft store. I also made my first two Rae Dunn purchases- I fell in love with this adorable “squeeze” cup for all the lemon decor, and I had to get these “hello sunshine” mugs too! I love this gorgeous white runner designed my @mytexashouse, and even ended up ordering two more of her rugs because I love how this one looked so much!
I also found an adorable pineapple cactus at Big Lots this year, that is just one of my favorite decor items every time I see it because I just smile- it’s so cute!.
This is also a close up of our new tile backsplash, which turned out even more perfect than I could have imagined! I love how much brighter it makes the kitchen with the Cambria Ella quartz countertop!
We were gifted some gorgeous pieces from MacKenzie Childs, so for the Fourth of July, I filled up this large royal check bowl with red apples. I’m thinking I’ll have to find some citrus fruits to put in it for the rest of summer though, after I turn these apples into a pie or something! And I just love this gorgeous white pitcher that I filled with red Gerber daisies for the 4th, and these sweet salt and pepper shakers in the royal check. They are just perfect for tying in all the decor in the family room!
Taking the decor tour to our family room. In our family room, I added touches of pineapple and blue candle holders on our mantle. I always get asked about our mantle clock, and I found a very similar clock on here on Etsy. and a bunch of pops of blue and on the couch through throw pillows and blankets. This blue gingham throw I found at Pottery Barn is one of my favorite finds for 2019, and I loved adding in some light blue pillows from Target this year too. I also couldn’t pass up this gold leopard lumbar pillow, also from Target, because I loved the metallic yet still neutral look. I also loved this decorative blue and white tray I found at JCPenney.
Last stop on the decor tour, our master bedroom. For our master, I love having a neutral comforter, but changing up the pillows and the throw blankets for each season, so for summer, I found some dusty purple pillows and a purple lumbar pillow at Target that I fell in love with, and a coordinating lightweight gauze throw for the foot of the bed, and I love how it adds a little bit of color to our bedroom. I also have been loving the Berry Waffle Cone scent from Bath and Body Works (the packaging matched the bedding so well, so I put it in the bedroom). It smells amazing- much a good summer scent! I also get asked about our bedroom furniture a lot, so here’s the link to the bed.
